A dental exam allows us to provide you valuable tips on caring for your teeth and to detect any problems early on - when they're most treatable. On your initial visit, we will begin by evaluating your overall health and oral hygiene. We'll listen to your concerns and provide a thorough and comprehensive dental exam. Our dental exams include a clinical exam of your teeth and related oral structures.
During your dental exam, we will evaluate your risk of tooth decay, root decay, and gum or bone disease to determine if there is a need for tooth restoration or tooth replacement. We’ll also examine your bite and jaw for problems.
If necessary, digital radiographs (dental X-rays) will be prescribed as they allow us to view areas of your teeth that we cannot see in the mouth. After your dental exam is completed, we will discuss the status of your oral health and your treatment recommendations. We encourage you to ask us as many questions as you'd like, as our goal is for you to be able to make the most informed decision regarding your dental health.
